-PROPAGANDA PROJECT-

Don't Let TV Kick You Out
For our propaganda project, our issue revolves around people not paying attention to their everyday lives because of their dedication to reality television. Some people's housework and careers get neglected because they watch too much reality T.V. Quite often this can lead to them getting fired or evicted. In order for them to watch reality television as much as they do, they would need to have a place to stay and keep their jobs. Our slogan is "You Can't Push the Power Button in Reality". This tells everybody that they can turn the television off and on with the power button, but their lives do not stop when they want them to, so they should be more focused on the reality of their own lives more than the lives of others portrayed on reality television. Some people lose themselves and their attention to personal hygiene because of television. Our goal of this propaganda piece is to make everyone who sees our work think about how television helps them neglect their everyday lives. Our propaganda piece will show how people just relax on the couch with their houses and lives left to disarray. Some become so distracted by television that if they got an eviction notice they might not realize it because television has their complete attention.
Our propaganda piece features someone sitting in a chair and relaxing while watching a reality show. While this person is sitting down watching television, their house will be very disordered and they will not recognize it because they're so dedicated to watching the reality T.V. show. We believe that the purpose of reality TV is to get their viewers to want to live the lives of whoever is featured in them. For example, MTV Cribs has all these stars and celebrities showing everyone watching it what kind of house they live in, how many up-to-date cars they have, and everything in their house that costs a lot of money. Normally, anybody who sees will want their lives to be like that, but their lives are not going to be like that if they stay in front of the television. In order for their lives to progress into the lives of celebrities they would have to ensure that their present lives are in order.
