Explore the Loop

The bell rings at the end of the day. You quickly grab your bags and hurry out of the courtyard. You've skipped lunch, and are starving. What are your options at this point? Either get something at 7-11, or fast until you get home. Maybe if you've got time, you'll swing by Potbelly or Panera Bread to sit down and have a nice meal. Maybe you just run into Starbucks to get a caffeine fix to tide you over. What is wrong with this picture? Panera Bread, Starbucks, Seven- Eleven, White Hen Pantry, Dunkin Donuts. These stores are not what makes Chicago a great city. Drive down any suburban street and you will see the exact same thing. In this respect Jones is strictly inferior to just about every other school out there. Why go here when you can go to somewhere closer, somewhere where you don't have to waste money on train fare, and can spend those extra two bucks on a bigger Caffé Mocha. The reason to go to Jones is that you can get a different cultural experience, and culture begins with what you buy. The world doesn't end at Dearborn. If you, the ignorant student, explore your surroundings you will be greatly rewarded, both in terms of what you experience, and the knowledge of the Loop that you acquire. When someone comes up to you on the street and says "how do I get to...?" Wouldn't you like to be able to answer them?
