America Needs Its Immigrants. Face It.
Many people do not understand the reason why immigrants come to this country. At times natural born American citizens see immigrants as a threat to their rights and as terrorists who have come to invade their country. They are also viewed as people who only come to steal their jobs. Contrary to these views, immigrants have many reasons to immigrate to the U.S. There is a lack of job opportunities in their native country thus, the need to find a decent job for an adequate salary. In order to make a living, immigrants get any job that is offered to them even if it involves poor working conditions and a low wage. What Americans do not realize is that immigrants are the ones who take the dirty and low paying jobs that citizens refuse to take; they become an important asset to the economy. Without immigrants large important companies such as hotels, office buildings, and etc. wouldn't be successful companies. Immigrants are not asking for shelter, they are asking for equality they deserve as hard working people who make a living and pay taxes. Immigrants are not here to take away anything from anybody; they merely seek an opportunity to live a better life. It is unfair to allow them to live under fear of deportation and have everything taken away all of a sudden. They should be able to live fearless of asking rights which they deserve.
Some people do not appreciate what they have until it is gone. The movie A Day Without A Mexican is a good example of what would occur if legislators do not pass a law that allows immigrants to become residents and decide to start allowing city police to have the ability to deport immigrants if they are stopped for a small infraction. If more movements are done that encourage the deportation of all immigrants Americans will suffer greatly. Hotels will not have their catties, schools will not have janitors, the rich white family will not have their nanny, the city will have no more taxis, convenient stores will no longer be open, and many more catastrophes.
Instead of trying to make life more difficult for immigrants to get into this country by wasting money building a larger wall, the government should be focused more on spending and investing in schools which suffer from lack of funding. Immigrants do not pose a threat to this nation. In fact, they are crucial to this country since they serve as a foundation to it and without them it would fall apart.
