Jones College Prep Facts
- Good public transportation makes JCP easily accessible from all areas of the city.
- JCP students have received recognition in the National Merit, National Achievement, and
National Hispanic Award Programs and as Illinois State Scholars. Our school has received the
Siemens AP Award in Math & Science. JCP students have been recognized in the Regional Arts
Competition and as Talent Search Winners & Presidential Scholars in the Arts.
- Dual high school/college credit classes are available through College Bridge and special programs
with the University of Chicago, the Illinois Institute of Technology, and Northwestern.
- 100% of the Class of 2006 received college acceptance. Students from this class earned
$7.1 million dollars in scholarships.
- JCP has received status as a National Service Learning Leader School and Model Character Education
School.
- Jones College Prep received the rating School of Distinction from the State of Illinois for 2002, 2003,
and 2004 based on: PSAE scores in English, Math, Social Studies, & Science; number of students on
track to graduate; and student retention. For 2005 Jones College Prep received the Illinois
Spotlight Award and the Academic Excellence Award.
