Summary of Common Misbehaviors and Consequences
Disciplinary action is another aspect of the educational mission of the school. We are engaged in helping students to develop effective social / behavioral skills for their future.
 
Consequences include, but are not limited to:
1. Parent/guardian/student/school representative conference
2. Compulsory community service
3. Before/ After school Detention or Saturday Detention
4. In-school suspension 1-5 days
5. Out of school suspension 1-10 days
6. Activities Ineligibility List (AIL)-Inability to participate in school sponsored activities including but not limited to junior / senior prom, senior activities, field trips, dances, clubs, athletic events, etc.
7. Expulsion
 
Although most consequences are assigned as indicated below, any consequence may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the school administration based on each individual incident. Loss of technology privileges for a period of time at the discretion of Assistant Dean and / or Technology Coordinator.

Consequence at teachers discretion, leading up to detention
9) In halls during class periods w/o appropriate pass
1 Detention & student is directed to return to scheduled location.
10) Public Display of affection beyond a quick greeting

If behavior continues then parents will be notified.
11) Violation of Dress Code
Student has to change into more appropriate clothing (from Asst. Dean’s Office). Multiple offenses will be at the discretion of Assistant Dean.
12) Inappropriate/ Offensive Language
1 Detention

13) Food/Drink Outside lunchroom
1 Detention & immediate disposal of item(s).
As well as any & all other disarray caused by students’ negligence.
14) Littering, Failure to clean up after self at lunch
1 Detention & immediate disposal of item(s). As well as any & all other disarray caused by students’ negligence. The student may also be assigned lunchroom clean up duty for a period of time. 
Repeated offenses will be at the discretion of Assistant Dean.
15) Other Infractions
At the discretion of the teacher/staff/administration.

***If a device is confiscated it is returned at the convenience of Asst. Dean’s office. The 2nd or 3rd offense a parent must pick up device. Jones College Prep is not responsible for lost or stolen confiscated devices.
 
 
 
 
 
* Students who have repeated 4, 5, or 6 Student Code of Conduct (SCC) violations may be ineligible for participation in school sponsored activities.
** Officially issued transportation Red Slips will be accepted in cases where official public transportation delays were the cause of school tardy. In these cases students will not be credited with a school tardy consequence. See Open Campus Pg 37.
